TokenInsight’s latest DApp rankings (29/01/2019): The best performing DApps for Ethereum, EOS and TRON.

Ethereum

The rankings of ETH DApps have returned to a stable state, with five new DApps coming online in the past week. At the end of 2017, the Cryptokitties based on the ETH network led the explosive growth of DApps that followed in 2018. In the first half of 2018, on average, 3 DApps were launched each day, with various gameplays constantly explored and developed jointly by players and developers. However only one year later, the proportion of active users dropped to 30%. The ETH DApp active addresses also fell from 230,000 in January 2018 to 78,000 in December.

According to contract statistics, in the past week, 31,000 users have played 1 to 3 ETH-based DApps, and only 3,000 have used more than 3 DApps.

EOS

The EOS network also saw 5 new DApps added last week, with DApps’ rank remaining relatively stable. The gambling Dapps increasingly accounted for 90% of the trading volume. The trading volume of other game DApps significantly shifted to gambling DApps and exchange DApps. The advantages of high TPS and zero-service-fee of EOS-based gambling DApps brought their rapid development, but it has been long for EOS DApps to find another application with high growth potential.

In the past week, 46,000 users have played 1-3 DApps on the EOS network, and more than 40,000 have used over 3 DApps. Compared with ETH, the EOS network boasts more DApps with active users.

TRON

The gambling games TRONbet and Dice3D accounted for 78% of the trading volume. The essence of the new games in the list, Dice3D and Pixel Farm, is still gambling. Pixel Farm modified the interface of simple gambling numbers, yet with the playability remaining low.

In the past week, 60,000 users have played 1-3 TRON DApps, and more than 5,000 have used over 3 DApps. It is important to mention that behind these statistics were the advantages of the small number of TRON DApps and the concentration of excellent DApp users.

List Explanation

  1. This list is derived from TokenInsight’s DApp Influencer Model which computes contract security, open source metrics and on-chain DApp activity
  2. The evaluation dimensions for each platform are the same, but the standards vary among different platforms.
  3. Data sources include on-chain trading data and contract test data recorded and summarized by SpiderStore.
  4. The final score is calculated by using statistical percentiles for most applicable dimensions.
